Additional Teaching on the Lord’s Prayer
On Sunday, August 23, we looked at Jesus’ teaching on prayer in Luke 11:1–13. While Pastor Mark only had time to briefly cover Luke’s version of the Lord’s Prayer, he referenced several sermons from our previous series on the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5–7.
The Lord’s Prayer is more than a model for what to say when we pray. Jesus gives us a framework for what it looks like to live as people who belong to God’s Kingdom—trusting our Father, seeking His Kingdom, depending on Him for what we need, extending forgiveness, and looking to Him for help in the face of temptation.
These prayers shape more than our prayer life. They shape the way we live.
